my boyfriend & I have been together for 41/2 years... we were long distance when we met, so we both accepted the fact that it would be difficult. we are about 2hrs away plane ride.. in the beginning he used to visit me every other month. it kept our relationship strong. then after 2 years of that... he decided to transfer to a school out here to be closer to me. He went home for the summer planning to come back & finish his degree in the fall, so went home for the summer. But now a couple things got mixed up with school scholarships, loans etc,. so it would be easier// less expensive that he finds an internship & finishes off his credits while he can live at home. So this means he isn't coming back; at least not to live. I've always wanted to move to the NYC area..so eventually we will try to establish some things and move in together. you can imagine we've been through A LOT together. more good//inspiring times then bad;) As his girlfriend I know, life has always been a difficulty for him, but he’s always trying to do right- to overcome complications. he is currently going through a lot of difficulties right now.. His grandfather whom he was very close to- ped away back in November, he was here at school, went back for a few days for the burial- but, as I see it, never really had time to grieve. Finances are extremely tight, he is in dire need of a job as well as an internship for school.. Fast. He lives in the NYC area.. Things are equally impossible as there are opportunities. I shared quite a lot of what he’s going through… in your opinion; are these all excuses for our phone convos to be suddenly limited. it might be another 6 months before I see him again- lately we haven’t talked much & when I complain about it, he is easily aggravated. does he not care anymore? I’ll admit I dislike that he is always spending time with his family & doesn’t promptly return calls or text.. actually some days it will go hours.. This is becoming an issue, he feels I’m not understanding enough to his situations. he is struggling & under a lot of pressure to find a job and support his family back home. he also soon going to be preparing to apply to law school....I realize I may have some growing up to do? & will have to be strong & patient. but what’s everyone’s input..... insecurities are getting at me.. I know this is a little tered// it's hard to sum up a relationship in one writing. New Club Idea! What do you guys think?!?

I have a new idea for a club but I'm just not sure if people would be willing to join it. But its going to be called Foodies Club or Food appreciation Club. You decide, or suggest a better one :D. Like one week we'll do cookies, and the next we'll do finger foods or something like that and then we all bring in a food for that theme. Needing Help With Child Custody?

I can see and hear that you have talent. Your fingers definitely know their way around the fretboard. You are fast. It's not enough to be loosely familiar with the scales. You need to know all of them by heart and like any really good musician you should practice playing them every day, up and down the scale even into the next octave. It will open up a new world for you and ideas will come to you that you never thought of. It sounds tedious but it works for all of us. Good luck.

Stuck by my wife of 13 years through gastric byp and today she left me. What a damn fool I've been!?

I know how pathetic I'm going to sound but what the hell I need to get it out, My wife decided that she wanted to have a gastric byp by the ending of 2004. I didn't mean to but I didn't want her to have the surgery after the doctor informed us about the complications. I loved her too much to want her to suffer but we worked through that and scheduled her surgery. During her recovery I almost lost my job due to taking off so much because she was scared to be alone at night in the hospital. I stayed for weeks but I didn't care all that mattered was that she feel safe and secure. When we were finally able to return home. I cared for her until she was began to want to do things for herself. Last night she told me she doesn't love me anymore. She has different goals/dreams than I do. And she left. So, my whole house got redone, except for my room. My mom and I switched bedrooms a few years ago, and in her old room (and my curent one), my dad took a week to put up wood to give it a cabin-ey look, but I HATE it. I cant get into Chat?

My issue is with the chat feature of messenger. I try over and over again to connect to a room...any room in the chat list, and all i get is either that the room is full or i get no response and wait about 5 minutes; and then it says that the request took too long, please try again later. After trying for maybe 30 minutes i either get in to a room (finally) and it is full of bots (another complaint entirely but i can live with that one for now) or give up. Ive also noticed sometimes when im trying to get into a room, i will keep trying a room that says its full because that is at least some response; eventually i dont even get those messages any more and then every room in any list gives me no response at all, even rooms that were previously giving me a room full notice. Should you dump a student in case you think he will use martial arts for a bad purpose?

I teach students on a personal basis mainly. I have one new student who does some boxing, and is pushing hard to know when he will grade and how long before using more advanced skills. Well as most of you know who train in MA, even the most basic skills can be deadly in the wrong hands. Usually I have consultations with prospective students to see how they are, if I think I can work with them I take them on. This student though gives me cause for concern and I am not sure it is justified. He has said he wanted to take punches from me but I told him he needed to grade before even light sparring could begin. He would not be able to withstand even a light punch from me so I think his ego must be tame before I can teach him more. Should I pursue with him or not? Just in all my years teaching I have'nt met anyone, 1-2-1 who gave me a worry they would use the skills taught for ill. But for him, I am not sure. Any advice is welcome thanks.

Should I go to CMU or NYU?

I'm having the same exact dilemma! I visited NYU yesterday, and I completely agree with their philosophy on art. However, I think I am leaning more towards CMU because they have a larger variety of programs to study in addition to fine arts, and they stress interdisciplinary study, while NYU stresses more on just fine arts and maybe some humanities studies. I don't know for sure if I want to do just art, and CMU focuses on applying practicality to the fine arts with their interdisciplinary studies program (BXA). While its nice to know that NYU has a smaller cl, I don't know if its worth ignoring CMU's reknowed programs and overall status.

First off, let me say that I've been a huge die hard Flyers fan for years. Love them and always make sure to watch every game. Four individuals approached a law professor of mine, claiming I was intoxicated during a college lecture. The smell of alcohol on my breath is easily explained: I had TASTED a new wine while grabbing dinner with a friend prior to cl (please note: I said TASTED). My behavior is also explainable, because I have a clinical diagnosis of ADHD, and had been in the 4-day time frame from when my Adderall could be filled. The behaviors/actions they claimed resembled drunkeness are all listed under ADHD symptoms. I have cleared this with my Professor, who is a MD state Prosecutor and considers this issue resolved since I provided doentation proving 1) my disability, 2) the absence of my medication, and 3) a symptom list of ADHD. These four individuals went to the Professor, Dean of Students, and Student Government (where I currently serve as a member). I am currently court ordered to abstain from drugs/excessive drinking - and had a drug test the following day - for which I came back negative. The motive for this is obvious: I won a student election for a position that one of the individuals wanted, the other is his girlfriend, another is the girlfriends bestfriend, and the final person is the bestfriends admirer. I was in a clroom of 25 people - and only 4 (with a common denominator) accused me of being drunk. This could affect my status as a Student Government member and/or legal status in the state of MD. Do I have a case for defamation if either of these two outcomes occur? I intend to becoming a lawyer - so this could substantially affect my ability to get accepted, in addition - it is ruining my reputation as a hardworking college student who participates extensively in Student Government. Aside from the broccoli, I'm not seeing a significant veggie intake here. While it's true that lettuce, tomatos and cuber are veggies- they really don't contain much nutrition wise. A serving of vegetables or fruit is usually considered to be at least 1/2 cup worth. You are supposed to aim for five full servings per day. The way I figure it, you had probably 2-3 veggie servings, and perhaps 2-3 servings of fruit. That would be a rather generous evaluation. You had plenty of protein, not enough grains, probably enough dairy, and believe it or not- still a bit light on the veggies. If the cheese or milk was full fat, you might well have overdone the fat intake- combining that with the margarine and walnuts. A handful of walnuts, say a half cup worth would bring in almost 350 calories alone, and contain slightly over half the daily fat requirement. So far as your original question, yes you can overdo fruits and veggies. Elephants and hippos are exclusively vegetarian. Even vegans can have weight issues. However, you really do have to add in a lot of extra stuff or eat a greater amount than you have for that to be a problem. I ume you either want to lose weight or avoid gaining. I'd suggest you actually up the intake of veggies- real veggies and not the salad leaf you put on a wrap or a taco. Breakfast looked pretty good, though you should have added in a whole grain (maybe toast?) and a citrus fruit. Make sure your dairy products are skim or at most 2% fat whenever possible. Check out that taco shell hard. Even though it may be whole wheat, most preprepared taco shells are fried, so high in fat as well as sodium. A serving of cheese, 1 oz, is about one slice of cheese. Each of those will be around 100 calories, slightly more actually, and provide 15% of your daily fat limit. Several pieces, you shot your diet foot. Smoked turkey, while lean, is loaded with sodium as well. Your trouble is not the fruits and veggies, dear. It's the fat and lack of veggies really. You actually need more than you are currently eating. You can stick with the same amount of fruit if you like. Keep a close eye on the fat content of the food you eat, and remember that even when a food is "healthy" it still can bring along more calories than you think. Nuts are good sources of good fat, better for you that the stuff around the steak- but all fat contains the same number of total calories in the end. And in the weight loss battle, it's the total number of calories that counts. If you need help figuring out all of the confusion, check out the FDA site to get more information. And good luck adding more veggies to the diet.

Do you have speakers and do they work with these sites? It sounds like the sound source in your audio panel for this audio source is turned down or muted. Check your audio panel and make sure everything is unmuted and the volume is up. If the headphones work with any other source you know they're working and it's something to do with the computer.

Too far gone?

My boyfriend (well x now) asked for space about a month ago because he wasn't happy and wanted to see how he truly felt, In the begining of our relatioship he was so attentive and loving towards me but I never showed (I did realize) that I was appreciative and at times took my bad moods out on him. One sector in irrigation system does not work?

I've got a Rainbird sprinkler with 3 sectors. One sector waters the front yard and 2 sectors water the back yard. I mistakenly umed that the irrigation system was not working and fiddled with the controls on the flow valve in the back yard. Turns out that the problem was simply that the water was turned off. Now with the water turned on, the front yard waters just fine. But only on of the two sectors in the back yard work. I cant tell if this is a result of my having played around with the flow controls or whether there is a thrid flow control valve that needs to be turned on. Is it common to have the water flow to two sectors go through the same valve or should there be a third flow control that I need to find and turn on?

the defrost water is the answer the drain line is blocked, remove the bottom bin in the freezer and look to the bottom back wall. GE ref to drain hole can be seen without removing any panels. Remove the ice from the drain area and put hot water in the drain and use your finger like a plunger. The water will go to a pan under the box or on top of the compressor. Your saying about the ice slab in the freezer gives it away good job!

Ok so I have a lil anger problem and this made me mad... Everybody in my buildings hot water isnt workin so we have to boil water for baths and stuff. When ever I stay at my friends house bellow us her mom boils us water for our baths (ive nown them all my life) and tonite for the first time ive needed my moms help with boiling the water(i boil water for it all the time but this time needed help) . I neede ner to keep pouring water in the tub every five or so minutes while I was in it so it wouldnt get cold. Like my friends mom did. At my college they gave us modems for internet connections. I have been trying to use my xbox to go on xbox live but it keeps failing on mtu settings. How to refinish a claw foot cast iron bathtub?

I have a claw foot cast iron tub in my bathroom and inside it there is a spot where you can tell the water spout once leaked, being that there is some rust developing near the drain. Is there any type of kit that I can use to refinish my tub? As far as I know, I should just be able to take a wire brush or steel whool to the drain area to remove the rust and then just reseal using a porcelin paint and/or protective clear coat. Has anyone changed the designation of their home, like from a condo to a town home, PUD?

We had purchased a house in N. Cali that was advertised as a attached single family but when it was time to process the loans we discovered it was actually a condo. After the whole economic meltdown, the loan rules are much stricter and as a result we have to pay a higher interest rate since it's designated as a condo. Now, we want to refinance with a lower interest but again are running into the same prob, that our house is designated as a condo. But technically our house is a duplex, nothing on top or below us, no HOA fees, etc. Our loan officer suggested that we change the designation with the planning dept. We went and tried to no avail. Does anyone have any experience or advice on this?

To add to that - I figured out how MUCH time I wasn't paid for and it amounts to $35K+ money I really could use - and by law apparently could still get if I asked for it. The thing is that I still feel loyalty to the manager, and he did do nice things for me at times, helping me through personal stresses I was dealing with - even if he also in turn added to my stress. But the bottom line is that I still do care for him. But I don't know what to do...

Carrying for chemo therapy patient?
