Is it true that you cant get pregnant 10 days after your period?

i was watching that 70's show and jackie said to donna that you cant get pregnant for 10 days after your period but she didnt know if that was 10 days after it started or 10 days after it finished. is there any truth to this? and are there days of the month that you cant get pregnant? and how can you tell your most fertile days?
